My mom always spends wisely. She taught me the 6 commandments that help you not to repent after going to the store

Unjustified expenses are one of the main problems in managing the family budget. Systematic optional purchases reduce the ability of financial planning and deprive a person of the ability to make truly important acquisitions. It was difficult for me to change my previous wasteful style of shopping until my mother gave 6 valuable tips on how to reduce unnecessary expenses.

1. Property audit

A shopping list is formed on the basis of the lack of products, things and objects that should be in the house. Accordingly, before going to the store, you must check the availability of products that you plan to buy. It is not necessary to do a full audit of everything at once. The best approach is to check the available items and products by category. By the same principle, it is worth making purchases.

2. Indifferent to discounts

Discounted promotions are always an attractive offer. It is good if at the time of going to the store such a promotion acts on the product that was supposed to be bought. But if the product for which the discount is valid is simply not needed, there is no point in such a purchase. In fact, an extra amount of money will be spent without any benefit, albeit at a discount.

3. Consider the possibility of a return

It happens when, due to certain circumstances, the purchased product is unnecessary, although at the time of purchase the situation was the opposite. For example, at home it turned out that in fact there are several sets of purchased consumables in storage in the pantry. In this case, the excess product can simply be returned to the store, if, of course, such an opportunity extends to it in principle.

4. Relate the goods to the amount of purchase

When planning a trip to the store, it is advisable to at least roughly evaluate what amount will be required to complete the purchase. This will help to eliminate unjustified expenses, including for more expensive analogues of the goods. Moreover, you should take with you exactly cash, not credit cards.

5. Analyze large purchases

If the categories of small goods do not need any assessment, then solid expensive acquisitions such as household appliances or a car must be initially evaluated from different angles. How much will this purchase be justified in principle? Why exactly this model? Is it possible to get along with a cheaper analogue with other characteristics? These questions will help you determine whether such an acquisition would be appropriate.

6. Price monitoring

Of course, it is advisable to learn about the most favorable offers at prices in advance, planning the corresponding route. The Internet makes it possible to do such market analyzes without leaving home.
