Liquid plug: features and scope of the material

Under the original name "liquid cork" hides a multifunctional material based on natural cork and polymers. We are used to the fact that sealants are designed to fill seams and dock surfaces, but the possibilities of this compound are much more impressive.

Liquid cork is a kind of sealant, the base of which is a tiny fraction of cork tree. This ensures the environmental friendliness of the material, its high thermal insulation qualities, as well as the absence of shrinkage. The elasticity as well as the protection of the crushed bark of the cork oak is provided by the polymers that are part of it.

It is suitable for the following tasks:

• improving the heat efficiency of the premises - with internal insulationfilled into the space between the flooring and the walls (especially if they are made of incompatible materials), filling the installation seams when installing door and window frames (after such processing drafts are completely eliminated);
• external heat insulation - filling the joints between elements of reinforced concrete structures;
• increase of the sound insulation coefficient in the conditions of multi-unit objects (noise reduction occurs on average by 27 dB);
• use as an anti-vibration pads of the floor of the car, as well as systems of mechanisms and structures;
• thermal insulation of the internal partitions of the object;
• filling the grooves from the inside during the construction of wooden structures.

If the color is unimportant, or you want to preserve the hue of the cork itself, you should choose a composition on a transparent basis. In some ways, it will resemble PVC with the addition of crushed tree bark.

Again, thanks to the vapor permeability and environmental friendliness of the material, the excess moisture from the house will be provided, which has a beneficial effect on the condition of the walls and the indoor microclimate of the room.

It should be noted that there is both a universal liquid plug and modified versions of the product, in which one of the signs is more pronounced.

Despite the fact that the liquid tube is suitable for filling the inter-seamless space of buildings from different materials, sometimes not even combining with each other, it cannot be used to fill the joints of a wooden wall. This is due to the tendency of wood to temperature expansion and drying out. When the density of the tree changes and its linear dimensions increase, a seam is depressurized.

• Working surfaces should be cleaned, degreased, dried, and then treated with a primer in 1-2 layers. A suitable composition is usually recommended by the sealant manufacturer, relevant information can be found in the instructions for use.

• Prepare the mounting gun, check the condition of the pipe.
• Fill the prepared space with sealant, evenly distributing it in the gap. If the adjacent surfaces have different heights, then when laying the sealant should be guided to a higher one.
• Sprayed cork should not fall on adjacent surfaces, if this happened, you should immediately remove the stains with a cloth. If they freeze, it will not be easy to do.

• After applying the composition should be leveled with a wet spatula, and if the gap is small - with wet hands.
